The Eight-Cow Relationship is more than a collection of tools to help fix a broken union. It is the plan. Nothing great is ever built without a plan—including a relationship. This program works because it is easy to follow, real, and gets results—and it appeals to both men and women.
The Eight-Cow Relationship began with one question, “What does a relationship need to assure happiness, success, and sustainability?”
According to legend, Johnny Lingo offered eight cows for his wife when everyone thought she was only worth one. That made all the difference in their relationship. We, however, don’t give cows today. What do we offer? What are our eight cows? After several years of observing, surveying, and interviewing countless people in various stages of life and relationships, we identified eight modern “cows” or traits needed for an enduring, successful relationship.
Why cows? Well—Patricia McGerr’s original story from Woman’s Day Magazine about Johnny Lingo and his eight cows is very poignant and inspiring. It makes for a great metaphorical base. Therapists and counselors who use our program in their practice say that talking cows is “safe.” It is easy to open up about important issues when you are talking in terms of cows. Defensive walls come down and common ground is established, making relationship building easier, empowering, and fun.
Building a relationship or mending one is serious business. We don’t take it lightly but we do make it enjoyable. The Eight-Cow Relationship employs principles that are foundational and effective. It will help you create the relationship you have always wanted and more.
