About us

The Eight-Cow Relationship is the result of the popular book “An Eight-Cow Woman Deserves an Eight-Cow Man.” What began as an arrogant goal to write a book on the important topic of relationships in less than 60 days translated into over three years of research and more information and data than we could possibly include in a book. The research continues and we have expanded from our original work to additional media forms and programs.

Our goal has always been simple. Get to the heart of the matter and find effective solutions to the problems facing couples everywhere. Like our original book, the solutions had to be easy to understand and apply—and fun. They also had to appeal to both men and women.

We don’t focus on quick fixes, bandages, or smoke and mirrors. You need Eight Cows. We show you how to get them, keep them, and help them get fat.

Welcome to The Eight-Cow Relationship.

About the Authors

It can sometimes feel uncomfortable to write about oneself. Consequently Ms. Cutler’s and Dr. Erickson’s bios
were written by Kurt Dowdle while Tracy penned Kurt Dowdle’s bio.)

Author Tracy Lyn Cutler

by Kurt Dowdle

Tracy Lyn Cutler, like me, hails from Boise, Idaho. I have always known her to be a daring individual, willing to try anything at least once. (Unless it was illegal or went against her morals.) Her fearless personality and love of animals led her to work as an animal control officer right out of high school. After graduating from college she eventually settled on becoming an artist, designer, writer, and business owner. She is as comfortable speaking to large groups as she is talking intimately with a close friend.

She is perhaps the most intuitive person I have ever met. She has always been able to sense the feelings and needs of those around her without drawing attention to herself. She is also one of the best listeners I have ever known. These talents were critical as she began this book. She was able to make deep emotional connections with those she interviewed as she was gathering data. She also has a clear vision of what she feels is important and has a desire to help others achieve their own dreams.

Author Kurt Dowdle

Kurt Dowdle was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. I met him first in high school and admired his drive and ambition. He seemed to be a man on a mission. He was active in sports, was a concert violinist in the local symphony, and had already lauched several business ventures.

When I bumped into Kurt later in life, he was a successful business owner and marketing consultant. He had already published eight other books where he had acted as either the author or ghost-writer. In our initial conversations he seemed to get where I was coming from with very little explanation. “An Eight-Cow Woman Deserves an Eight-Cow Man” or the “Cow Book”, (as we call it) became a three-way collaboration every step of the way. Kurt’s insights and experience helped put our thoughts into words in a fun and creative way. He sensed the urgency for the book but was the one who knew we had to hold back to gather additional research and data before proceeding. His help in that rewarding but arduous process was invaluable.

Author Ty B. Erickson, M.D.

by Kurt Dowdle

I met Dr. Ty Erickson long before he became a medical doctor. He had graduated from high school at age 16 in Las Vegas, Nevada and was trying to decide on a discipline that would be challenging and rewarding. I remember being in awe of his depth of intelligence even though we were both just teenagers at the time. I had the privilege of working with him on a few projects then. We lost track of each other for many years until Dr. Erickson was referred to me for a project that required medical input that was consistent with his expertise.

During one busy day I casually mentioned to him the particulars of Tracy’s “Cow Book” and that it looked like a fun project. To my surprise, he indicated that the topics covered were very important to him and that he would love to participate. He lent amazing creative direction as well as vital medical and professional expertise that only he could provide.

Dr. Erickson holds several medical patents. He has traveled the world, tutoring other doctors on specialized surgical techniques that he personally developed. Throughout the years, despite his busy schedule, he has volunteered many hours a week in civic and church activities. He lectures regularly, is an avid women’s advocate, and has spent countless hours counseling women and couples.
